| Our History Sonshine Shop 1100 S. Grand Ave. Evansville, In. 47713 established in 1983 Our first day of business was on July 1,1983. We opened with no rental shelves or customers, but we had items in our store that we had made such as, a cross made out of burnt match sticks, a couple of quilt tops that were hand-made by Lyles grandmother, and a few other items. A couple from our church brought in a bottle collection, and we had just odds and ends of handmade things, not many, but it was our first day. By November we had grown to 99 clients! Sonshine Shop even made the papers! Business was very good and we met many really nice people. I have so many wonderful stories; as time goes on I will share a few. Our son, Joal was born on January 12th, 1984, so Lyle took over the business. From a rent- a -space store to making our own items. We've come a long way. And it's not over yet! |

| WELCOME MEET THE CREW |

The Sonshine Shop has plenty of opportunity for volunteers. Laughter and fun are the main ingredients to a productive volunteer. Craft items are made daily and each volunteer takes part in either the painting, stenciling, sanding, sorting, or assembling of each product created. The level of self esteem is very high at The Sonshine Shop as the volunteer sees the finished product and then sees people come in and buy what they helped create. We thank God that He has given us such great people to work with. Words cannot express how we feel when the volunteers have such a positive response to working at The Sonshine Shop. Thank you volunteers, parents and God for blessing us so much, The Beanes |
